Session Information
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENTS
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED TO ATTEND?
This will be dependent on your presenting concern and how long you have been experiencing it. Some clients may feel better after the initial session but QUICK FIXES usually DO NOT work! (as with all other things in life).
On average, clients attend 2-4 sessions. Post-surgical rehabilitation and more complex pain cases generally attend up to 6 sessions on a weekly or biweekly basis depending on the preference of the client.

What should I bring along to my first appointment?
Please bring along any referral letters, relevant information, X-rays or scans to your first appointment.
The affected body area will need to be seen. Ensure that you are comfortably dressed, where the area of concern is able to be exposed.
What happens at the first appointment?
During our first appointment, I will invite you to share the difficulties and/or reasons for which you seek help. I may also ask you about your strengths and resources, as well as your expectations and goals for therapy. In order to help me understand your difficulties a little better, I may also ask you some questions about your background. As my approach to healthcare is holistic, I may also ask about other aspects of your health and wellness as many of these contribute to the pain experience. This information deeply helps in establishing the “root cause” of your discomfort and/or disability.
My approach is warm and empathic, which I hope will enable you to feel comfortable and safe enough to speak freely about your difficulties. Most of a diagnosis is formulated from this discussion.
We then move on to some physical testing and various movements to develop a single working diagnosis. A short treatment is included here with some guidance on how to continue your management at home. More can be done by you daily than can be done by me in a 60 minute session.
What is the cancellation policy of the practice?
Once scheduled, your appointment time is reserved especially for you. Therefore, I ask clients to let me know of any cancellations at least 24 hours before your appointment time.
Kindly note that I reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for late cancellations on the day of appointments, or for appointments not attended without notice.
